Policy

1. Scope

This policy applies to the ClipForge marketing website, ClipForge desktop software, its licensing and account-recovery service, purchase and subscription flows, transactional messages, and support interactions operated by CTF Designs, LLC (“CTF Designs,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). It does not replace the privacy policies of third-party services you choose to use.

2. Information we collect

Website

The public website is static and currently contains no forms, analytics, advertising pixels, or optional tracking cookies. Cloudflare may process network and security information such as IP address, request time, requested URL, user-agent, and abuse signals to deliver and protect the site.

Licensing and account recovery

When you register a trial, recover access, purchase, activate, download a license file, or manage devices, we may process an email address, an opaque customer or license identifier, Stripe customer and transaction identifiers, subscription state, plan, payment amount and currency, promotion allocation, device installation identifiers, activation records, entitlement dates, and security/rate-limit records. Customer keys, verification tokens, and rate-limit identifiers are stored as one-way hashes where the service design permits. Verified email addresses are stored in the restricted licensing database so we can deliver and recover licenses and send required billing messages. We do not receive or store complete payment-card numbers.

Support

If you contact us, we receive the information you choose to provide, such as your email address, message, diagnostic details, and attachments. Do not send source media, credentials, license keys, or private project data unless support specifically requests a safe, necessary item.

3. Local media processing and exceptions

ClipForge is designed so transcription, highlight selection, reframing, caption rendering, project storage, and exports run on hardware you control. CTF Designs does not receive source files, transcripts, or rendered clips merely because you use those local features.

Network activity occurs when you intentionally use or configure a connected feature, including:

• online trial registration, entitlement activation, license recovery, device management, and subscription management;
• Stripe-hosted Checkout and Billing Portal pages;
• transactional email delivery through Resend;
• an eligible URL import, which contacts the source platform and related delivery infrastructure;
• optional Buffer connection and approval-gated publishing, which sends the content and metadata you approve to Buffer and the selected destination platform;
• software downloads, updates, support, or external links you request.

ClipForge does not promise that third-party source or publishing platforms will process information locally. Their policies and account settings apply to those interactions.

4. How we use information

• Provide trials, purchases, signed entitlements, activation, recovery, device transfers, renewals, cancellation, and refund or dispute handling.
• Send transactional messages such as verification links, customer keys, renewal reminders, and cancellation confirmations.
• Protect customers and services against abuse, replay, unauthorized access, fraud, and promotion manipulation.
• Respond to support requests and diagnose faults.
• Maintain accounting, transaction, security, and compliance records.
• Improve reliability using information supplied through support or operational service records.

We do not sell personal information, use it for behavioral advertising, or create a marketing mailing list from licensing transactions.

5. Service providers and disclosures

• Cloudflare hosts the website, licensing Worker, and D1 database, and provides delivery and security services.
• Stripe hosts payment and subscription-management pages and processes payment, fraud, tax, and billing information under its own privacy terms.
• Resend delivers transactional licensing, recovery, reminder, and cancellation email.
• Buffer and destination platforms receive content only when you configure and approve publishing through those services.

We may also disclose information when required by applicable law; to protect users, CTF Designs, or others; in connection with a legitimate corporate transaction; or to professional advisers bound by appropriate duties. We require service providers to process information for the contracted service, subject to their terms and applicable law.

6. Retention

We retain licensing, transaction, promotion-allocation, refund, dispute, security, and support records for as long as reasonably necessary to provide entitlements, prevent duplicate or fraudulent claims, meet accounting or legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. A promotion ordinal is not recycled after a refund or chargeback. Retention periods vary by record and legal requirement. Local project and media data remain under your control and are not deleted by license expiry.

7. Your choices and requests

You can avoid optional connected features, disconnect Buffer, manage active devices, cancel an annual subscription through the Stripe Billing Portal, and delete local projects through your own system controls. You may request access, correction, or deletion of personal information we control, subject to identity verification and records we must retain for security, transactions, disputes, or law.

Privacy requests may be sent to roman@ctfdesigns.com. We will respond consistent with applicable law. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights and may appeal or complain to a competent privacy authority.

8. Security and international processing

We use safeguards including encrypted transport, provider-managed secret storage, signed entitlements, bounded requests, hashed credentials and tokens where appropriate, least-privilege service credentials, and redaction of support output. No system is perfectly secure. Service providers may process information in countries other than yours, subject to their contractual and legal transfer mechanisms.

9. Children

ClipForge is a creator tool not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child provided information, contact us so we can review and take appropriate action.

10. Changes and contact

We may update this policy as ClipForge or applicable requirements change. The effective date identifies the current version. Material changes will be presented through an appropriate product, website, or transactional notice before they take effect when required.
